Most of a Nickel - music from Threepenny Opera, by the Jeremy Kahn Quartet
Get this one: In 2004, Jeremy Kahn recorded a CD that was a rethinking of Kurt Weill’s songs from The Threepenny Opera (including Mack The Knife). Jeremy was pleased with the results, but somehow, amazingly, the quartet NEVER ended up with a live performance of it. So here we are … in 2019. Jeremy has assembled the original lineup from the record (what a killer group!), and Studio5 is honored to present, as Jeremy calls it, the “Delayed 15th Anniversary World Premiere of Most of a Nickel”. Don’t miss it! I hear the next gig is scheduled for 2034.

We'll be recording this performance for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB, so you'll be part of the studio audience! See you there. -SR
